Omnilux Revive

Omnilux revive works with the body's own natural processes to counteract the effects of ageing. Omnilux light therapy was developed based on the proven understanding of how light works to stimulate specific cells responsible for correcting the signs of ageing. When exposed to Omnilux light therapy, at 633 nm several cellular mechanisms take place:

• Light stimulates cells responsible for tissue repair
• Light stimulates cells that produce collagen and elastin for delayed, long term results
• Light is absorbed in the mitochondria, increasing cell vitality and permeability allowing for active ingredients to penetrate deeply and activate quickly

Because the light stimulates the body's natural repair mechanisms it is excellent at enhancing the effect of other aesthetic treatments (e.g. microdermabrasion, botox, fillers, facial peels, laser and IPL) to further enhance treatment results.

Red light penetrates into the dermis, deeper than any skin care product or therapists hands. Red light also promotes well being and helps reduce Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) syndrome.

Rosacea

All the symptoms - persistent redness, frequent blushing and flushing –can be caused by a condition known as rosacea or colloquially known as the “curse of the Celts”. Unfortunately, rosacea and its treatment are not common knowledge considering an estimated 14 million people in the UK are sufferers. The majority of sufferers are females between 30-60 years of age but, men are also unfortunately afflicted by rosacea with a usually more aggressive form of the symptoms.

Ongoing research attributes rosacea to two main causes:
• Genetics
• Blood vessel disorder
although other causes have yet to be determined.

What is known for definite is that environmental factors such as:
• Sun exposure
• Excessive wind
• Humidity
• As well as extremes of temperature from winter weather
• Central heating
also exacerbate rosacea.

Furthermore, food aggravators such as:
• alcohol
• chocolate
• hot sauces and yeast
can also cause flare ups to occur.

So what does this mean if you suffer from rosacea?

It’s not as if family history or Scotland’s famously windy and wet weather climate can be changed! Treatment remains the key and is best undertaken as soon as possible, as rosacea is a progressive condition. This involves a combination of home care (using creams) and salon treatments such as AHA peels and Omnilux Revive light. Additionally for females, mineral make up by Bare Escentuals (Currently America’s number one selling foundation) can reduce redness with recent studies showing a reduction in redness and skin swelling by 31% in a mere 2 weeks.

Omnilux Blue combined with Omnilux Revive

Omnilux Blue targets and neutralizes the bacteris (P.acnes) responsible for the redness and inflammation of acne. Omnilux Blue stimulates cell regeneration and detoxification. A course of Blue light is equivalent to taking a course of antibiotics. Omnilux Revive, which has anti-inflammatory properties, helps minimize the redness of acne lesions and promotes healthier skin. P. Acne bacteria have a life cycle of 8 weeks so the maintenance treatment is best carried out every 8 weeks.

Optimum results will be seen between 4-8 weeks after the treatment. The light stimulates natural processes that continue healing after the treatment has stopped. Whilst studies have shown complete clearance of lesions, on average you should expect 81% reduction in lesions clinically proven. It is suggested that the light therapy is used in conjunction with AHA peels and products.

Omnilux Plus combined with Omnilux Revive

Omnilux Plus stimulates the production of deeper collagen than the Revive treatment and initiates the skins healing process even though there has been no trauma to it. Plus combined with Revive acts synergistically to stimulate your skin cells and develop smooth skin texture.
